Farm: Add a Worker

Render Farm Updated 18 Jul 2026

Before you start

Workers need network access to scene paths (NAS/Tailscale) and the farm agent installed.

Steps

  1. Install the render agent on the worker PC.
  2. Open Workers - register or approve the machine.
  3. Assign a pool if the job targets a specific pool.
  4. Submit a test job from Houdini and watch the worker claim a chunk.

Overview

Register a render machine so it can claim chunks.

Gotchas

  • Workers must read the same NAS/Tailscale paths as artists.
  • Render cost appears after job completion, not at queue time.
